Garage Talk: Mono-Printing T-Shirts
Recently, I took the concept of my mono-prints and applied them to a few t-shirts I had leftover from old projects. It was the perfect reason to finally use the single-colour T-shirt press that has been sitting in my garage unused for 5 years. And the perfect reason to actually clean and use my garage for printing. Sometimes it takes a while to find the right inspiration. Glad my gear was out there for me, waiting.
The way the colours dry a tiny bit in the screen gives it kind of a cool watercolour effect.
Ink on the screen pre pull. I started adding ink retarder to my initial ink piles so I’d have more time to work on my screen and it helped a lot.
I am so excited by how these proof’s of concept turned out. I also find it funny how me it is to make a 1 of 1 tshirt, maybe the dumbest financial idea ever screen-printing wise. Either way, I’m gonna do more for a future small release. Can’t stop, won’t stop.
